After strongly considering driving north to experience snow, we decided to stay home and “weather the storm.” Of course, Erin cooked a chicken and sausage gumbo, as it is definitely gumbo weather. Monday morning, we had “tons” of ice on everything, that the kids loved playing in. Tuesday morning was not as good, as I found out the hot water heater was not flowing. We had forgot to run a slow trickle over night. Blow drying the outside unit for about 2 hours did not fix it. So, I wrapped the hot water pipe in the attic with a heated blanket. That worked! The kids had more fun at the neighborhood pond, throwing ice onto the frozen surface. School has been cancelled for Wednesday, so they are really excited.
